Students/participants deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. This course provides participants with the confidence and competence required to perform CPR on an unconscious casualty in the context of those having suffered electrocution.

This training course is designed for anyone who may need to perform CPR during their employment. This training course is taught according to the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. This training course takes personnel through the theory of why we do CPR and many practical exercises that illustrate how CPR is performed.

Entry Requirements

There are  pre-requisites for this course:

UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace

OR

UETDREL006 Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker

 

This includes demonstrating CPR on a manikin for a period of two minutes. If you have poor mobility or a current injury please discuss this with us prior to booking.

Note: Please wear covered in shoes and appropriate clothing. Participants under the age of 18 are required to provide a consent form completed by their legal guardian

Duration

This LVR course is run over a period of three (3) hours face-to-face. There is no mandatory pre-course learning. All training and assessment activities are conducted during face-to-face training.

Course Content

  • Electrical safety information
  • Incident is reported in accordance with workplace requirements
  • Conduct a primary assessment
  • Rescue principles
  • The incident site is secured, and workplace requirements control entry.
  • Correct use of the low-voltage rescue kit
  • Maintain and use safety/rescue equipment
  • Management of injuries
  • Conduct D-R-S-A-B-C-D
  • Provide CPR on adults
  • Roll the patient into the recovery position
  • Handover to medical personnel

Requirements for Completion

Participants are required to attend 100% of this Low Voltage Rescue & CPR training and successfully complete assessments at the training centre or onsite at your workplace.

Assessment

This course is assessed through online activity, demonstration, presentation and application of all elements of competency in the workplace. Participants will be required to complete activities that may include role-plays, oral and written questioning, practical demonstrations and performing scenarios.

Certificates are issued the same day, providing 100% of the course components have been completed,

*Note, it is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the floor. Please notify us prior to the course if you are unable to kneel on the floor.

Accreditation

Participants are required to attend 100% of this Low Voltage Rescue & CPR training and successfully complete online assessments prior to the practical course. The online task will be available when you enrol.

  • UETDRMP007 – Perform rescue from a live Low Voltage panel
  • HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Location

Onsite Training at Coolangatta First Aid. Workplace onsite training including Sydney – Central Coast – Newcastle – Hunter Valley right up to the Sunshine Coast QLD. If your school, company or group are not located in those regions please contact us to confirm.

Validity

The LVR component of this training covers the skills and knowledge required for a person to be able to carry out a risk assessment of an electrically hazardous situation and perform low voltage rescue procedures without hazard to themselves or others. LVR training has a 12-month validity. Our comprehensive student management system will remind you approximately 1-2 months before your CPR and LVR is due to be refreshed.
