General questions

Booking, the venue, certificates and CPR renewal.

How do I book?

Pick a course, pick a day, enter your details and pay. That’s the whole booking.

Which Time Zone do you train in?

We train in NSW time zone. (Daylight saving)

How do I find my USI?

Visit USI gov

How long is the class?

CPR is about 45 minutes at the venue. First aid is two hours. Childcare is about two hours. You complete the theory before your class, at work or at home. We do offer express training in the afternoons.

Do I need to finish the theory first?

Yes. Finish it on your phone or computer before class.

Where is the venue?

Unit 15, 39–41 Corporation Circuit, Tweed Heads South — about ten minutes south of Coolangatta. Free parking at the door.

I live on the Gold Coast. Is my certificate valid in Queensland?

The training venue is just over the border in Tweed Heads South, NSW. Certificates are nationally recognised, so they are valid Australia wide.  Allow NSW time for your training start time and finish time at Tweed Heads South, when daylight saving is on.

How do Gold Coast clocks work in summer?

Classes in our Tweed Heads South venue are NSW time. When daylight saving is on, Gold Coast (QLD) clocks are an hour behind. A 9:00 am class is 8:00 am on the Gold Coast.

When do I get my certificate?

You’ll receive your certificate the same day on business days, provided your enrolment and online work are fully completed. We will contact you during business hours if anything needs to be added.

How often do I need to renew CPR?

Every 12 months. That is the Australian Resuscitation Council’s recommendation. Most workplaces and childcare centres will not accept CPR certification older than one year. First aid is every 3 years, but the CPR part of that certificate should still be refreshed each year.

Are there prerequisites?

CPR, First Aid, Child Care and LV Rescue with CPR have no unit prerequisites. Advanced Resus (HLTAID015) needs current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid — or book the combined Advanced Resus/CPR/First Aid class. Group units: HLTAID014 and HLTAID016 expect current first aid; the others do not.

Can you train our staff at work?

Yes, for groups of five or more. Contact us with your details, and we will set a date and time and send you a quote based on your requirements. After-hours is possible, depending on our trainer availability. If some of your team are located in Grafton, we can train them at our Grafton venue.

What should I wear?

Closed-in shoes and clothes you can kneel in. CPR is assessed on the floor for about two minutes. Bring a drink/water. Theory should be completed on your phone/computer before you arrive. We cannot issue a certificate if your online theory hasn’t been completed.

Can I cancel or change my day?

If you cannot attend, please email us (use our contact form) and give us the new date/time you would like to be moved to. Do not call us, as we need to verify your request in writing to ensure the new training date is accurate. There are no refunds for cancellations, however, we are happy to move you to another class date.
